I built a website by talking into my phone.
After the Google Business thing worked — after I actually started getting more tourists finding me — I went a bit down a rabbit hole. If that was possible, what else was I not doing? What else was I missing?
I started playing around with different AI tools. ChatGPT I already knew a bit. Then I found something called Manus. And I had this thought — completely on a whim — can I build a website just by talking into my phone?
The answer, it turns out, is basically yes. And that is genuinely wild to me.
What Manus actually is
Manus is an AI agent — which means it doesn't just answer questions, it actually does things. You tell it what you want and it builds it. Code, websites, documents, whatever. You can type to it or talk to it, and it figures out the technical side.
I'm not a developer. I have no idea how to code. I barely know what half the words mean when it explains what it's doing. But I can describe what I want. I can say "I want a website that tells my story, looks warm and personal, and has a place for people to sign up." And it builds that.
This website — the one you're reading right now — was built that way. I talked. Manus built. I said "that bit doesn't sound like me, make it more like I'm talking to a friend over coffee." It changed it. Back and forth, like a conversation.
Why I'm telling you this
Because I think a lot of studio owners — a lot of small business owners — feel like the tech stuff is just not for them. Like there's a whole world of websites and automations and AI tools that other people understand, but not us. We're teachers. We're in the room with clients. We don't have time to learn to code.
And what I'm finding is — you don't have to. The barrier is genuinely lower than it's ever been. I built this website. I'm building automations for my studio. I'm figuring out how to get AI to handle my DMs and my payment reminders and my social media content. Not perfectly. Not all at once. But bit by bit.
That's what I'm documenting here. Every chapter is something I've actually tried — what I did, what happened, what I'd do differently. No expertise, no polished "here's the system that changed everything." Just honest notes from someone in the middle of it.
If you're a Pilates teacher, a studio owner, or honestly anyone who's wearing all the hats and drowning in admin — you're in the right place. Come along.
